CANOLA RUN - CALEDON 2016

This being my very first Canola Run..... I thought I'd prefer to lay back near the back to take in all the wonderful scenery that was on offer & capture as much of the experience of the day's ride on camera. A few days later now..... I have finally got through working my way through the various video footage of my helmet camera, I have managed to get a hell of a lot of photos from it. A little over 1000 in total   ;D

I really just didn't have the time right now to edit all my video footage & put together a few video clips.....so I thought I'd rather post some of the photos I've extracted from the video footage. Unfortunately I somehow missed the first section of the beginning (through that really "AWESOME" muddy FUN section :'( :'( as I only had my 32GB memory card in the camera & not my 64GB card as I thought I did

Also, I forgot to switch my camera "OFF DVR Mode"   This unfortunately meant that when the card got to the end.... it simply started recording over the beginning recordings, in stead of notifying my to change card. I guess I can blame it all to the fact that I was perhaps waaaaaay too excited & keed to do this ride.....I just didn't think straight.

I'm on my way out now to this interesting  "World Travel Presentation" https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=198861.0

But will start posting my photos later as soon as I get back.

Ok....here we go. :ricky:

I started off @ the beginning with CapeKLR, Goose, Ginger & Hugo.....but when we looked again....Hugo & Ginger quickly made their way much forward & I was riding with Goose for quite a long time for most of the first leg. This was a great time to also catch up on some "chit-chat" along the way as we were connected via our BT headsets.

I might not have recognised or known everyone riding in view of the camera....but hopefully I've managed to capture a few nice shots of a few riders along the way.

First few photos near the first train track crossing.

As we were almost near the rail line crossing (with the stop-go slow moving pace) as everyone was making their way through that really "Fun-filled :lol8: :lol8: muddy slushy track.....this poor lady behind me must've lost her footing a bit & toppled over. She seemed ok as it was all laughs on her part ;D :lol8:

A couple of us helped her up & off we went again.

Moving forward :ricky: :ricky:

I'm not sure of this rider's name, but would really like to get in touch with you my friend. It sure was great to see you doing this ride with your one son in front of you on his green "2-stroke little monster" & your younger son on the back with you as pillion :thumleft: :thumleft:

Please get in touch with me buddy, as I have quite a bit of really cool video footage of you guys along the route & would love to share it with you.  ;) ;D

Last section before the first rail line crossing & it was my turn to "elegantly drop my scooter" :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

With 200+ bikes having churned up this section of track.....I gave a little too much gas here & somehow the front wheel decided to follow its own route & the *** just wasn't quite on the same page as the front.

Well the photos clearly show the results :lol8: :lol8:

Quick pick up with a little help from a few guys & off we go again.

I had noticed that there was a bike near the line that seemed to be a bit stuck...so went up to see if I could lend a hand. Seemed to be tangled in a some wire. Turned out it was the same lady that dropp her bike a little earlier ;D

One of the other riders was busy assisting by making his way on her bike though the wire. This could very well have been caused by me "holding up everyone behind me earlier by my "little session in the mud pit"  :lol8: :lol8: SORRY ;D

Nice pics there BIO-- seeing the coil of plaasdraad there--lots of that around. Twice while using the edge of the road/grass for traction overtaking ran into some  camouflaged pieces- one in the rear wheel and the other modifying the the gear lever which thankfully was just bent back and slightly down- nothing that a bit of muscle could not fix
