I just want to test you experienced riders on this too...
This morning I tried to get my "new" 1150 GS through roadworthy. It became another headache. The engine number of the bike differs from the Registration Paper. At the police this bike's record shows that it was stolen in 2010, recovered. and legally bought again. I will get a Police Clearance for it, after I have gotten Microdots on for R550.
I also found out on a repair slip from 2012 that this bike must have a new odometer, because in 2012 it stood on 97000 km and now on 49900.
And then it has this slipping clutch in 5th and 6th gear.
Should I return the bike to the original owner as he offered on Saturday (after only the clutch came to light?) Or should I bear the pain and continue on this journey? Except for the clutch everything else seems fine and in excellent condition. And the bike is really beautiful. With a Remus pipe on...
