Double Drift 1st RR . Beware lots of photos.
Saw Big Doms and Edgys RRs on the area and had to do it.Well worth it.
Any bikers going to this reserve please respect the quietness and speed limits we  don't want this one closed.
Smaller bikes will have fun exploreing the numerous side roads that are quite technical.
My apologies to my riding buddys for not inviteing as this was a recce in the area and bonding trip. I will camp there soon.

Jan 17, my daughter ( 38 kg ) riding pillon and myself (97kg stopped smokeing) were up at 05:00 and the wife was prepareing an awesome breakfast for us.
There were to be two more companions for breakfast bacon,eggs,sauages ect ,Kobus and paul both were to be my backup through the reserve.
06:25 we receive a phone call, Paul has his 3rd or 5th flat this week and Kobus has gone to collect a bakkie ( not the WD Bakkie ), I lost my temper
as I asked them to check their KLRs on Thursday and Friday.I told my daughter we rolling and to hell with backup.
We went through Grahamstown and took the R67 .Some nice tar twisties for the riders that enjoy them.We finally arrived at our turnoff but decided
to drive a few Kms extra to the bridge that spans the Great Fish river ( Eastern Cape ). There was a lot of water flowing but the thing that stood out
to us was the old bridge that ended halfway. I will send the Fuglys there on a night drive to cross that bridge.
Well onto the photos and a brief description on each.

1 = Half bridge ( waiting for Fuglys ) >:D
2 = road to Andries Vosloo game reserve and Double Drift. :eek:
3 = road ahead
4 = road behind (daughter getting creative )
5 = Sign at entrance to reserve

As mentioned last we spoke I ended up at the start of Baviaans for coffee on the side of the road & then back to J Bay for a repair to boets fridge.
A great ride you did & great pics.
Next time some bass fishing & a ride.

we eventually decided to leave and travel the last few km's to the picnic site
on the Great Fish river and wow it is big ,clean and well spread out with lots of shade.
The down side there are no ablutions .
Might be a good place for the dogs to gather.

well after enjoying the trees and clean shaded area we proceeded and looked at
the causeway ,now we know why we have seen no traffic and what I hate about riding ,
in front of us, WATER , I did not realise there would be sooo much.
So I put the question to my daughter , do we turn around, as we have no backup and
she said , No dad, we are on an adventure! ,well that made me proud and promply put our costumes
on and started walking the causeway looking for holes ect, 1 meter in and were already sliding,holy shit we are in an a
brown/green ice rink.
Laughing so much at ourselves that we forgot to take the best photos, us covered in gunge.
This was a great bonding experiance.
Then it was the bikes turn to cross , thankfully the bridge was intact.

1 = fishing spot next to picnic spot.
2 = eeek (again)
3,4,5 = water crossing. Great Fish River

we got changed out of our costumes and left our jackets off and carried on.As we were looking around I received a call from Kobus,
he came in the southern gate where we were headed, I told him
we were in the middle of nowhere and if he headed to the picnic sites we would bump into each other,
2 minutes later we did. He had dropped Paul off and went to my house ,had a cold breakfast grabbed a
map from my wife and moved.He took the wrong turn on the R67 and ended in Bathurst , he went down instead of up,so he chose to
find us by going in our exit which worked .
Pity he wasn't there for the crossing.

1 = secondary roads that we explored. some really rough.
2 = same road we just finished exploreing from distance ( reminds me of The Hell )
3 = found a view
4 = another view
5 = on top of the world.
