Electric motor conversion to an old car?

I have a mate who owns a '67 Ford Anglia.

The original motor was discarded and replaced and he doesn't want to sell it for sentimental reasons.

However, he wants to hopefully convert it to a battery powered car

Can this be done?

Does anybody know if there is perhaps somebody in Cape Town who can do this as living in the Eastern Cape outside PLZ, he cannot find anyone there?
