Fitting BMW tailbag

I recently bought one of these, and whilst it would appear that it was made exactly for the pillion seat on the GSA, I would prefer to mount it on the back carrier  of the GSA. The bag even has a sleeve at the bottom that would indicate that it can slide onto some sort of mounting plate. A normal topbox mounting plate will however not work as the bolts will be in the way of the sleeve.

Any ideas on how to mount this as an alternative?
