Suzuki DR650
Bought it in January 2014, with 44186km on it.
Now sitting on 51 700km
I am the second owner. The bike is in my name and licence is up to date (valid until December 2016).
I think it is a 2009 model, first registered in 2010.
The bike is in Gauteng. Germiston area.
Front tyre: T63, still got a good few km’s in it
Rear tyre: MT60 (getting a little bit smooth)
Will be sold with a new T63 rear. As well as an assortment of spare tubes (I think I have x2 rear tubes and x1 front).

- Barkbuster handguards
- Orange headlight cover

- Battery replaced towards the end of 2015

Reluctant sale.
Reasons for selling:
- I don’t ride it enough. After a few scares, I have come to realise this bike is a little too big and heavy for my skill level and the terrain we have up here (a lot of sand!)
- As it is South African-registered, I can't keep it in Botswana and don't want to re-register it here.
I know I won’t find another bike like this when I eventually get back to South Africa, but seeing as I don’t know what I’ll be doing in 2-years’ time, I would rather not have this sit and rot away. It is with a very heavy heart that I type this advert.

I have serviced it since moving to Maun, and I have a record of everything done since I bought it.
- NSU Screw was lock-tighted shortly after I got it.
- Dux gave it a general service shortly after I got it.
In September 2015 I did the following (it was probably on just over 51 000km. I noted the k’s on my Fuelio app which is on my phone which crashed. Of course, I never backed up the data on the app).
- Oil changed (uses Castrol Actevo 4T 10W-40)
- Oil filter changed
- Air filter changed
- Sparkplugs changed
- Frame cleaned of rust and repainted with primer and anti-rust paint
- Exhaust cleaned and repainted.
Honesty Section:
- Front brake lever bent from a fall before I got the Barkbusters
- Front headlight fairing scratched from when I removed the screen I had stuck on
- There was some rust when I bought it, which I eventually got around to touching up. I sanded down the areas, then applied both primer and a coat of grey paint. Unfortunately the colours aren’t an exact match
- A few character marks and whatnot from a couple of falls and brushes against trees
- Chain guard might need to be replaced before the roadworthy
- Right hand spot light wobbles in its holder. I have secured it with a cable tie
- A couple small scratches on the tank from my riding pants
Won't be sold with a RWC.
