Fun on 500's

At one stage Shaun and Carel were up ahead and I was following Dawie, when I heard a muffled shout off to the side of the track as I sped past.

Out of the corner of my eye i saw Shaun lying stuck under his bike right off the path, Dawie had ridden past without seeing him.

Anyway, Shaun was fine and the two of us got his bike back up to the track without too much trouble.

I would still be lying upside down with my legs pinned between a big rock and my bike if Jon didn't stop'.

Don't be so dramatic Shaun, we would have come looking for you is you hadn't turned up in Hilton by the next day, and by then you could have sawn your trapped leg off with your biltong knife  :laughing4:

The plan for Sunday morning was to trailer the bikes to the Pickle Pot Cafe near Boston and ride from there.

This would enable Shaun Dawie and Carel to head straight for home after lunch and give us the most riding time.

First section we tackled was the Impendle Nature Reserve, which consisted of a nice rocky descent into the valley followed by grassy slopes back out

Previously this area was nice and open, but lately the local farmers have been putting up fences to presumably keep their cattle from wandering off, but at least there are gates to let us pass through.

The local farmers seem to have no problem with us crossing their land.

Looks lovely. Great weather and riding. Happy to see you out with a set of similar bikes! Half the time I see you guys out there with some fella astride a bloody 990 or some other beluga class bike! Lots more fun this way

Ja Carel's a great guy, very good rider too.

We are meeting up next weekend at Old Mill Drift for a weekend of riding.
