The gear selector of a motorcycle is typically operated by the left foot of a rider, used to push the selector either upwards using the topside of the shoe or the shoe sole to press the selector down.

The selector has a stem that is covered with a ribbed rubber sleeve, which tends to scuff and wear away the left shoe's upper cover.

This gear selector cover is used to protect the shoe against wear and colour fading due to a repeated use of the selector when changing gear. The device uses a sleeve made of a fabric that is non-flammable, waterproof and exhibits some elastic properties such as Kevlar.

The heat resistant sleeve is configured with a central bore opening that is push fitted over the free end of the selector stem. The sleeve is prevented form sliding off by means of an elastic anchor band that is hooked over the end of the main selector lever. The elastic property of the sleeve makes it compatible for fitment to the gear selectors of all motorcycle brands.
