General mechanical training.

Hi Guys, I was wondering if there is a place/institution/school/person that offers basic bike mechanical training to the public that one can attend? I do not have a lot of technical knowledge and would love to learn more about how to maintain my own bike as well as do basic repairs in case it is needed on a trip.
