In November of 2014, myself and two friends got the opportunity to do a sponsored 10 day trip. It's a complicated story how we got there, but suffice to say we managed to pull some strings to fund the multi-day adventure biking trip through the Eastern Cape, Transkei and Garden Route. We would set out from Johannesburg and make our way down to Cape Town, covering 3,000 km's, staying over in some of the most picturesque parts of South Africa. The best part of the whole thing was that we would have camera support with us for about 80% of the time.

What you see below is the trailer version of our 8-part web-series that we're releasing over the next few weeks. We're also hosting our first Adventure Tales and you can come and hear about our story, as well as to 2 other epic stories.

Check out the first shot trailer below:

On this day we rode the standard Johannesburg to Himeville route, going past Sterkfontein dam, Notting Road and arriving in Himeville in the dark.

It was here where Roy's bike first starting giving us trouble - we had to runstart the bike each time he would switch the engine off, something we found out to be a MUCH bigger problem later on the trip.

Nice to have a sponsored trip like that! I remember Roy from the old punk rock days. Any reason why he didn't kickstart the bike?

Keen to see the rest  :thumleft:

Dwerg - yeah, the day before the trip a lady dumped into his parked bike in Parkhurst and knocked it over. It bent the side stand and kickstarter so it was a bigger mission to get the kickstarter out every time. We tried once or twice, then ended up just keeping it running.

Having the trip sponsored was a great thing - but it's hard work shooting links etc all the time! But we're grateful for it.

Riaan - we're releasing the second episode this coming week.

First place we post it will be on Wild Dog!

Here's episode 2 guys!

It's a little shorter than the rest, but in this episode we fix Roy's bike (the first of many times) and then make our way to Rhodes via Naude's Nek:

cool nice editing skills. wish i had that skill and could document my rides like that. keep it coming.

Episode 3 is out!

In this episode we stayed over in Rhodes for an extra day. This meant that we could go explore Wartrail and the surrounding areas.
We went up Carlisleshoek to Tiffendell and all the way up to Ben McDuie.
Roy decided to take a break from riding today to take some more pictures.

Firstly, awesome trip...and think we all wished we were payed to ride our bikes in the Eastern Cape...

Secondly, quite informed about passes, but in the video it is stated that  Naude's Nek is the highest pass in SA, Sani Pass is actually the highest.

Isn't Sani Pass technically in no-mans land?
