So just to tease a little bit more, we did have Roy on our trip with us taking quite a bit of photo's. That was part of the reason why we got the trip sponsored by Levi's - in exchange for the budget to do the trip, Roy and us would post pictures of the adventure as we went along.

You can follow Roy on Instagram for more pics (not necessarily all of bikes).
Some of these pics were also taken by our cameraman, Dave Fisher. Dave also has a pretty epic adventure film company called Fish Munga - he's been fortunate enough to travel to some pretty cool places.

But in the meantime... Here are some images from the time at Rhodes, Carlisleshoek and Wartrail. Some of these are screengrabs off GoPro's, so not the best quality, but I think it still manages to convey the adventure.

The road gets twisty just as you exit Rhodes and turn left to go through the meadows.

Then you hit the fun...

Small jumps into streams...

Until you get to the start of Carlisleshoek

The pass is really steep - our Polo back-up vehicle ran out of power and couldn't make it up.

The pass itself makes a few twisty bends up, and then starts a long drag going up. It's a breathtaking view from here.

That meant we had to leave the car and film team behind. It was just Koos and I heading up into the top.

We found some streams and features along the way that made for perfect mini jumps, one at the bottom of the pass, another right at the top.

On top of Ben McDuie, with Tiffendell in the valley below. Ben Mdcuie is the highest point in the Eastern Cape.

We stopped on an escarpment on the way back the Wartrail pass down, as you head to Lundeans. Epic views from here

We managed to find our way home just before sunset and was treated to beautiful sunlight - just right for some hero shots.

More pics to follow of our 3rd day... Next video is releasing on Wednesday.

Just in case you missed it, we had a small segment on the Expresso show yesterday talking about the trip and how it came about.

Check out the segment here:

Episode 4 is out!

[flash=800,450]https://www.youtube.com/v/5E3KYNIdewM[/flash]

We head down the escarpment to arrive in Coffee Bay. It was quite an uneventful day, mainly spent just straight cruising down, but we realised how densely populated the Transkei is!

Episode 5:
[flash=800,450]https://www.youtube.com/v/hnFw6Os1VUA[/flash]

It was our second day in the Transkei and we decided to take another day break and spend some time finding our way around the various dirt bends in the Wild Coast.
Roy's bike was fine this time round, and Dave our cameraman came along for the ride.
We visit Ndumbi beach, swim in the bay while drinking quarts that we bought at the top of the hill. The ladies at Ndumbi were gracious enough to let us use their kitchen for lunch. Outside Roy and Koos spot some whale jumping.

:sip:

Waiting for the rest - what a trip so far  :thumleft:

Episode 6!
[flash=800,450]https://www.youtube.com/v/fAiluewq71g[/flash]

In this episode we hit big time mechanical trouble.

My F800 decides to not start, and while we troubleshoot it we get BMW Assist out. They tow us to Port Elizabeth, but we first find out from a travelling Irishman where the word "Shebeen" comes from.

excellent, oh dear. i see where we go one we go all doesn't apply so much here.  :imaposer: i would be that guy.

Thanks for the comments guys.

It was more a case of - see you on the other side this time round.

Ended up trailering with the tow-truck driver into the middle of the night. Wouldn't have been fun...

no comment on the BMW and KTM being trailered to a workshop!  :thumleft: :imaposer: you should give Yamaha a call maybe they will endorse you.  :deal:

looks like a blast, hope you guys are enjoying it.

DirtyXT - ha yeah! I know we should have been able to fix it.

In the next episode you'll see exactly why Roy's bike had to be towed... Mine on the other... I was just gatvol by that stage! Transkei is an awesome place, but not if you are there to ride a bike and your bike is broken!

No judging bud. I know how soul destroying mechanical issues are on a trip. Keep at it, out in the sticks help comes from amazing places.
