I'm hoping this string will be 'collaborative'; I'm looking for places to camp, advice on border posts, good panniers to get, route suggestions, whatever you think may help.
So, I'm new to this forum (and biking), recently acquired a DR650 (the Tenere turned out to be sh*t) , and have this ambitious/insane plan to ride to Malawi, the LONG way round. I'm going at the end of this year, late December-early Jan, want to spend 2 or 3 weeks doing it. I'm in Cape Town, my end destination is Lilongwe (working there for 4 months, then coming back). Want to go via Namibia, Bots and Zambia.
So far, that's as much as I know...as the year goes on, this string will reflect a more and more well-planned route and ride schedule. As I learn/plan stuff, I'll post it here... It's either genius or madness, I can't tell just yet O0
