Grizz and Dozer arrived safely on Friday afternoon and after a few minutes of appreciating the fact that Grizz's bike had made the trip thus far without too many repairs and oil fill-ups, we made our way inside to get to know each other.
Saturday, we all had some running around to do so made our own tracks but got together with some other WD's to tan some meat and lubricate our throats (some better than others)
EssBee and The Badger came over with their ladies and much fun was had. Will the Cape guys please make some more wine, we made a huge dent in the National Reserves   ;D

Sunday morning and Grizz, Dozer and Myself did a tar only ride through Kloof Gorge, up Bothas Hill (Comrades Marathon route) to Pmb. Went up to Hilton for a breakfast and casual slab back on the N3 because they had friends and family to see.
My German girl enjoyed the family get-together and the 3 Airheads seemed to get on well together. There was no speed involved and it was a great way to spend the morning, cruising together,  blowing off the cobwebs and enjoying the crisp Autumn air.

Until I work out how to put text between photos, here is a summary of the following pics
1. They may be brothers and may have BMW's but obviously a different sense of direction. Trying to leave my house.
2. Passing another one of yesteryear's children up Fields Hill.
3. Dropping into Kloof Gorge, tight turn in a leafy tunnel, yes please
4. The 3 siblings, different years, different functions, different bodies and different size innards but all one family and many Km's between them.
5. Chips - Jon and Ponch, sorry my mistake. Chops- Deon and Paunch
6. Thats them hanging around behind me.
7. Bloody GS riders have to stand everwhere. Actually I thing his ass was reliving the last few days of 100's of km's
8. So pretty, well except for Grizz.

Jup, you would understand better than anyone else. It brings a huge smile to my face.
Once you get to 80+, it smooths out, the mirrors stop vibrating and it just want to pull. It also has great 'look back' appeal, the German girl enjoys the attention.   :thumleft:

What did you use to take these two pics?

SM, I have a GoPro mounted to the side of my helmet. The cord you see flapping in the top left of the pic is a 'tether' that is looped from the camera casing through the slots in my peak just in case the proper mounting gives way (double sided tape)
For a road trip like this, I had it set to take a photo every 5 secs. You land up with over 1000 pics to sort through and only keeping maybe 10. But thats 10 you wouldnt have had without the camera.  ;D

So Grizz and Dozer took leave this morning from a sunny Westville, Durban. The temps were already high at 6am and they have 550km of boring tar/cement N3 to travel as they head for Gauteng.
Thanks guys for sharing your trip with my family and we wish you safe riding and Grizz a good trip back home.  :thumleft:
Photos:
- 6am this morning and Grizz with a bucket of coffee inside him still does not look excited about today's leg of the trip. A garage full of fun behind him
- Cheers guys  :-\
