Headlamp melting

Yesterday while cleaning the bike I noticed moisture in the head lamp, on closer inspection I see that the heat from the globe has melted the inside of the head lamp. I have always used the recommend globes, in fact the one is still the original. The bike is a 2009 has 35k km's and is mainly used for commuting. Anyone else experienced this?
