The Yamaha Helderberg monthly ride went well today , all Home safely.

The excuses started last night and this morning with regards to the wet weather .

We were lucky , I left this morning at 07h10 , NO RAIN !
Arrived at Engen One Stop , NO RAIN !
We rode all to way to Ceres , NO RAIN !

Riders that braved  the Weather today and had a blast were :

1. Gavin Mac     XT660Z
2. Andy660       XT660Z
3. Tour            KTM950SE
4.Tony bones    XT660Z
5.Andy Security       KTM690

Thanks guys , a good ride was had today even though the 690 ran out of petrol !

Visibility  was a bit bad this side of Bainskloof

but one over the top iy was clear all the way to Ceres.
Refuelled  in Ceres, then up Gydo Pass , Snow on the mountain above Gydo Pass .

Twas a bit nippy passing by Op Die Berg , but that mountain was covered in snow'

Katbakkies was called KAKbakkies today , snot and long muddy stretches today made some interesting ridding.

Then our morning coffee at Padstal and Justaguy and Tour were hungry and had some burgers;

Then off down Rondawel Pad , which was in good condition today

We then looped back to Padstal for Steak Berger's for Lunch , which are always very good.

Oh , and the record for eating cook sisters at Padstal is .Andy Security , 12 cook sisters !!!

We found a farmer(Bill) that has petrol just down the Katbakkies road , 3km from Padstal , and he wants bikes to pop into his camp that he has built.

His place is called  Sothemba Lodge Guest Farm,  email [email protected]

He gave us petrol and asked that we should mention to you all ,  that Bikes are most welcome to pop in for lunch and a beer on weekends.
There is a sign on his gate , " One free Beer if you buy a Pizza
They have a tented camp there with beds and bedding for hire , some cottages in the
mountain kloof there too/

Some pics down Rondawelpad

And , did I say how cold it was on the way home

Glad you guys had a good ride.  The weather was always a bit of a gamble but once you've crossed the mountains it usually improves anyway.

One of the 2 new inhabitants of Padstal Farm.

The female a Jackal  killed , and someone donated another , but it turned out to be another male.
Anyone no perhaps where they can get two females , let  Hein know via Tankwa Padstal on Facebook

Waiting for our Steak berger`s

Only 5 Riders weren't afraid of the weather today

Go to Mr Price Sports and get yourself a good tog bag for next to nothing. Rain covers can be purchased from Cape Union Mart.

:imaposer:  Missed you guys in Gouda today .

I always like group photo's, this one looks like it was taken years ago. Must be the facial expressions because of the cold
Tour's pose is something for the body-language experts to solve.  :imaposer:
