Clockwork Orange
Race Dog
Esteemed brain boxes, Hopefully you could help me out with the following problem.
I have bought a set of new fibre clutch plates for the XL 500 R and want to go about replacing the existing. My plan is to drain the oil, ly rthe bike on the side and remove the casing.
NOW the problem I believe is that there is a nut the needs to be removed that has a special tool for this job. I believe that one can remove the front sprocket, grip the shaft with vise grips and then use a conventional socket to loosen this nut. Any better ideas on how to get this bolt loose???
Once the bolt is off I can remove all the plates. I will then sand down the steel plates with some emmery paper, soak the new fibre plates in oil and then re-assemble the whole system. Fill the bike with oil and hopefully have a good clutch again.
Any other tricks or must does that I need to know about.
Thanks in advance
