I am in Cairo, having left Holland a month ago.
On my way to Joburg.
My question is I'm riding an HP2 and it started the trip with 12,000km (I only added about 2,000km of that).
I've put on about 7000 km during the trip: fairly hard/high speed miles.So is at about 19,000km now.
I topped up the oil level from low end to max with 500ml of oil as the manual says it needs to do that.
And in the last 7,000 km I do not see the level at all, even checking almost daily.
I THINK it is still above MAX.
I've checked fairly regularily after I started.
Is a bit of a bastard to check: with only side stand you have to balance the bike so it stands upright and peer at the sight glass.
Anyone have a feel for oil consumption?
Is it possible i've used up almost no oil in 6000 km????
Seems I should be burning SOME.
I've added 500ml just in case now.
Will see in morning if I can see the level.
I can add another 500ml or so in case it's still too low.
I plan to do an oil change at the 20000 mark (in 2000km more).
Could change now too.
Maybe I will to be safe, am in Cairo and won't ride for next couple days.
Any tips on consumption and reading the sight gage?
