Keep it coming - the places you are doing are where we were last year - awesome stuff!!

Day 3; 28 June 2013 - From Upington to NAM.

NOW THE EXCITEMENT IS MOUNTING.....BORDER CROSSING TODAY.

But first, I need another bag to pack some stuff in to tidy up the load and facilitate unpacking. First end up at a hunting shop, very unfriendly people, bikers obviously not their favourite type. The lady in the shop next door directs us to 4X4 Mega World. Total opposite. VERY friendly people. Bought the canvas bag, some tie-downs and a set of RACHET STRAPS. And they gave me a big discount. Please support them if you ever get there.

Now why is this oke telling us this? Get back to the RR!!!!!!  :deal:

Remember this set of RATCHET STRAPS!!!! Somewhere in the future you will understand the significance of this seemingly innocent purchase of mine.

So off we go. Reverse track a bit to take photos of the Orange River and we head for the border. (Sounds like a cheap Mexican movie).

Oh by the way, if you look carefully at the top photo with the bridge in it, you will see where Sakkie se Arkie sank.

Day 3; RSA / NAMIBIAN border.

Only a few vehicles at the RSA post. All goes well.

Hy was "so hot under the collar" dat die vensters opgestoom het. En dit is warm buite ook.

Dag 3 by Namibie grenspos Ariamsvlei 28 Junie 2013

Die bebaarde man wat by die kantoor daar uitblaas, is nie die goeie manierde skoon geskeerde gentleman hooligan wat daar in is nie. Murphy is so blou soos sy bike suit.

But, we are eventually on our way to Karasburg, despite having been invited to stay at Ariamsvlei for the festival. The tents were erected within view of the border post, but the arrival of the M.O.C. and entourage, in his panel van sponsored by a "butchery" was enough to convince me otherwise. Ek sweer die 1 chick was 'n WWF stoeier.

Anyway to Karasburg. Bad move. It is obviously pay Friday. Beggars at the fuel pumps, crowded Spar nearly sold out of the basics, bottle store full to the hilt and the streets are crammed with "die omgewing se etnies bevolking" in various stages of inebriation.

Murphy got some dubious meat and we are out of there. Outside Karasburg we hit the gravel road to Ai-Ais. Great ride, but it is getting late.
