While replacing the Steering Head bearing the other day I decided to just fix up all the small bits that have been irritating me over the past few months. For one, the false neutrals were getting to me and the excessive leaning over when on the side-stand was just getting too much.
So I stripped off everything underneath the bike and did a few mods while I was at it.
1. The gearlever. Got some 20x5 flat and some bits and pieces from the scrap box ...
And started making this..
Turned some PVC ...
And ended with a rather lekka adjustable gear lever.
Pulled an Adventurer on the side-stand attachment ...
And welded it back together ...
While all these were in for plating/Powder Coating ...
I fitted these ...
The end result -
Before
After
And while I was about it, I just removed the header and polished it, not for the prettiness factor as that soon disappears but to make cleaning easier.
And it even now stand upright.
