Day 8.5: Puros to Khowarib

Once recouperated,  it was back on the D3707. :thumleft:

I passed the vehicle convoy to get ahead of the dust, where I stayed till Sesfontein. ;)

I made a quick photo stop enroute to Tokamas. :)

Some pics to give one an idea of the area. You don't want to be stranded here!

Day 8.7: Puros to Khowarib

Had another quick break and photo stop at Tokamas. 55km only covered for the day. Not much happening at Tokamas, besides two recently erectly tombstones. Must have been significant people in the area.  :thumleft:

Day 8.10: Puros to Khowarib

'Till Sesfontein we had covered a 100km, and only 32 km more to the Khowarib Lodge. ;)

This was an oppertunity for some fast gravel riding!

I was last out of Sesfontein, as I went to buy ice to fill my Camelbak and two isolated 750ml containers. :)

The D3707 runs between the Naweb and Goragurib mountains out of Sesfontein. No passes though. ???

Gave the 500 gas from Sesfontein...passed Hennie and Brian who were having a rest in the shade...then stopped at the C43 to Opuwa turn-off for some pics. ;)

Hennie and Brian came past. I followed them to Khowarib, passing through the small village of Warmquelle on the way. :thumleft:

Day 8.11: Puros to Khowarib

Khowarib has the lodge, camping and there is a community camp. :thumleft:

We stayed in the  lodge's campsite. Rustic, but hot water ablutions!

We had a break stop at the lodge on our way up from Palmwag to Opuwa. ;)

Hardy has an arrangement with them for us to use the pool.

Refreshments and ice at the bar. ;)

A few pics at Khowarib Lodge. :thumleft:

Pic 1: The Lodge's main building.

Pic 2: Riders cooling off.

Pic 3: Henk, Gordon, Jannie and Beatie having liquid refreshments.
