On the route you take what would the required fuel range be if you didn't have a support vehicle? i.e. between fuel availability?
Fishing here - we're going up there in September.

thanks!

To be safe you'd need fuel for about 450km. Most times you can buy fuel at Epupa, Okangwati, Orupembe and Puros but not always.

On this April trip there was just about no fuel available. The only place that had was Puros and we took their last 4 jerry cans at R450 for 20 liters. (ouch) Next trip we'll carry an extra 100 liters.

Take for 450km to be safe.

On this April trip the only fuel we found was at Puros. We took their last 4 jerry cans at a whopping R450 for 20 liters. Nothing at Epupa and Orupembe. We were running low and the support van did the trip from Marble to Puros return at night to have fuel  for the guests in the morning.

Looks like you had an awesome trip. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, thanks. So about 27-30l on a KTM 500 to be safe then.
I've winged it and taken 10 liters on a 690 on my own and managed to get fuel along the way. Depends on your attitude to risk. Being stuck in a dead end end town waiting for a another ride group to bum some fuel could be a nightmare.

Just do it bud. The pics don't do it justice.
I go a couple times a year now and even though its work for me I just keep finding it amazing.

That must be one of the best places to go to with a bike (the right one) - Kaokoland.
We had a very good rain season this year and that's the best thing about Namibia......she only needs a little water to bloom.

Next time you guys come around Swakop, give me a call. We can enjoy a cold one

Just got this from camp Syncro and we'll be there in two weeks.

Check out the 'little African Python in the tree above the camping area.

I'm keeping my tent closed at all times.
