I had been eyeing taking the service tracks to the railway lines from Kempton park to the N4 for a while, it was 46km and we decided to do just that this Sunday. The two of us on a BMW 800GS and 1200GS got onto the twee-spoor just off the R25 and the first thing we came across was a nice pool of muddy water, now after the amount of rain we've had recently that was expected but boy, did we not know what to expect later on. What a lekker ride it was with a 'oopsy' and a chuckle for the both of us. The pictures of the state of both the bikes and riders are testament to fun factor.

I have also attached the route for anyone else who wants to follow it.

This one was deep, too deep to ride. We decided to go along the side and the mud started flying

My wife, kids and me did that route early Saturday morning but we started from the Rietvlei dam riding next to the R21 and crossed the water where you guys started the route,Saturday it was slip and slide all the way and very nail biting, came down at the same spot that you did so don't feel bad there is a deep hole hidden in the water.

We rode some of that route last week. Up to the N4, where the fence blocks the path, but there is a way around to continue on the other side.

3rd last pic, where the rider is standing in the water - is that the one near Boschkop? Looks very similar to the one I wanted to take photos of Nunique coming through, but before I could take cam out, I was hit with a tsunami wave. She stopped 6 meters away, hit first gear and full throttle.

Was a very nice ride though. Main thing to me is you feel 1000s of kilometers away from the big smoggy city.

Working on a new route which will take us about 60km on gravel.

Please send the longer route. I will be in Kempton Park over Xmas and then staying at Bronkhorstspruit Dam. Will have my bike and would like to ride the route.

I'm glad we never attempted that large pool now and decided to just go on the sides. The Pic with me standing in it after I bailed was in the area of the Knoppiesfontein station.‎ I'd love to see an extended version of this route, I'd like to attempt it again in the new year (if it ever comes  )

looks familiar?
