Beers, burgers and Blues at the Dwarsbar well this could not be missed and plans were set in motion.
Kally,Hazzard said that they would join me on condition that I would behave on the gravel and at the Blues gathering which off course I did. :
Friday we bailed from Port Elizabeth and our first dirt was Prince Alfred pass ,well someone must have taken a broom and swept it as the road could not have been better, from there through the Knysna forests to Sedgefield where we would rough it in a log cabin at Lake pleasant.
Saturday saw us stop off at Sedgefields market day for breakfast, after brekkie we kicked back into the forests towards the Montague pass but being on Pestilence (my bike) the wind picked up to a gale followed by rain so we decided to tar it to the Swartberg.
It felt as if we were on our way to Snow valley .
I seriously recommend to any rider to take the dirt road between the Swartberg and the R62 which comes out by the Carlitzdorp dam, it is a pleasure to ride and scenic with some fast stages in between.
Here are the photos with a brief description on each; these will be followed with a few head cams photos.
I made a serious mistake with the Contour head cam by changing the HD video setting to taking photos every SECOND and now have more than a couple of thousand photos.
The best photos will come from Kally as we voted him as our designated photographer.
Enjoy.
1=Kally (Prince Alfred pass)
2=Hazzard (Prince Alfred pass)
3+4=Kally, joys of being retired
5=you are here
