Locusts - AREAS to avoid?

Hi Dogs
We leave next week for EC via Baviaanskloof. Did a similar route last year and a few hundred locusts committed suicide on me and my bike. After all the rains this year there are more of these little *******s. Can anybody advise where they are in large concentrations so we can plan to avoid. Advice will be greatly appreciated.
