Question:  Who's responsible for the maintenance of those dirt/gravel roads?  Local government or do the national parks have their own people that does it for them?

The county (Local gov't) would be responsible for that path.

In a National Park, they have their own equipment typically.

Sorry to disappoint y'all  :imaposer:

I slowed my roll for several reasons, camera mounted on a gimbal, riding by myself in extreme heat, a few thousand miles from home, all played a role.

I must say, it was kind of nice to not be in a race, gave me time to stop n smell da roses.

Later in the trip, the videos stop, the gimbal broke, and I was tiring of messing with all the electronic equipment and monitoring battery condition.  It takes away from the ride.  I found I was enjoying myself more concentrating on the trip and the sites versus capturing footage and taking pics.

The next day, 13 July, after riding the previous day, it was time for a rest day!  This became my modus operandi, ride a day, take a day off, the days off increasing as the trip went on!

I lounged around, ate breakfast, smoked a bunch of weed, went back to bed, sick of the heat.

The only thing I accomplished for the day was some much needed laundry.  I went to a laundromat to drop off my clothes only to find it was self serve.  What in the ****, I had to use a washer and dryer, this is no way to live for an outlaw.

Two hours of my life I’ll not ever get back!

Then I went back to my motel, took another nap, went to dinner, drank more Mexican Coke, then went back and planned a route for the next day.

Entry 21 - Expensive Mud & Water
Star date - 14 July 2018
Distance:  234KM

I rode down to Ojo Caliente (O- Ho-Cal-E-N-Tee), as I'd read there was one of the oldest hot spring resorts in US history down there.  A place where one can enjoy hot mud and or hot natural spring water pools.  A few pics from my ride down there from Taos.

The river was way down as a result of drought.  I rode up upon some horseback riders and river boaters.  The river boaters were having to get out of the rafts because their fat ***** were dragging bottom.  Saw this quite a bit.  I found the horses next to the river majestic and peaceful to watch.

Then I crossed the bridge and began riding up the switchbacks.  Some lovely overlooks on the ascent.

I arrived at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa.  No pics, sorry, photography is frowned upon because everyone is in bikinis.

Deemed sacred by Native Americans of Northern New Mexico, Ojo's legendary waters have been soothing body, mind and spirit naturally for thousands of years. Ojo is one of the oldest natural health resorts in the US and the only hot springs in the world with four different sulfur-free, healing mineral waters. The resort is historic and fresh with eclectic charm and modern amenities in a tranquil and relaxed environment.

The restaurant wasn't serving food for another hour, they wanted a fortune to go sit in hot spring or mud pool.  I looked around at all the cute little bikinis and almost decided to join the crowd.  Then I thought, I'm not spending 50 bucks on sitting in mud with other girls unless I can get a ******** out of it.  Since there were so many people around, getting said ******** was highly unlikely.

So, I enjoyed a couple of fresh cold beverages walking a little, and then jetted towards Taos Ski Valley.

Riding NM-150 with the Rio Hondo River running adjacent to the road.

I arrived in Taos Ski Valley, it was pouring the rain.  I did manage to capture some video footage that I've misplaced.  I'll add later if found.  Here's a pic of one of the most odd architecture I've ever seen in a residential home.

I didn't stay in Taos Ski Valley long, it was time to descend the mountain to drier elevation and get something to eat.

I stopped at a restaurant with an outside bar and patio.  Beautiful place, video footage to follow.  I ate a delicious Bleu Cheese Burger n Fries and a few stiff drinks to go with my weed high I'd enjoyed most of the day.

Wow Taos didn't dissapoint  :thumleft:

Just to clarify, Taos is where I was staying, Taos Ski Valley is a separate village several miles away and much higher in elevation.

I found some video footage of Taos Ski Valley, it's quite a place with a Swiss theme.

I've tried unsuccessfully twice to upload to the tube.  I'm gonna continue to try.

You're very welcome.  I must have recorded the video in 4K because the uploader claims several hours to upload.  I'm gonna try and trim it.
