Greetings from the Hamburg area, Germany
I am an agricultural engineer, aged 65. My biking career started in 1978 by restoring an old a Zündapp DB 200 from 1938, followed by a Zündapp Norma 200, both 2-stroke. Later I got a Yamaha SR 500 and later a Yamaha XZ 550. - I the 80th I lived for a while in SWA/Namibia where I worked as a "landbou opleidingsbeampte" - ja, manne, ek praat nog steeds Afrikaans en ek doen ook moeite om nie van die taal te vergeet nie en om my kennis op hoogte te hou. - I had a little Suzuki GP 125 there first but replaced it by a Yamaha XT 500. Back in Germany I didn't own a bike for many years but I had the opportunity to drive the ones of friends and family of mine, or to rent bikes. - A couple of months ago I bought a used beautiful KTM 790 Adventure S (2019 mod.). What a fun! Next year I will be going on TET (Trans Europe Trail) tour with it. And later perhaps spend some time in Southern Africa again.
