Hello ladies and gentleman,
Another newbie on wilddog. Im a Brit, living in Cape Town.
I just got myself an ugly wart-hog of a machine, a KLR650, and Im LOVING IT. 2007 model, with 20,000 kilometers on the clock.
It has a boy-racer, go-faster exhaust which Im taking off, and going back to the more manly standard. I want to hear myself whimper as I pull back the throttle and accelerate the speed of your average family saloon.
But I know my KLR is unstoppable. Except if it breaks down, gets stuck, or I fall off it - in which case I will never let anyone know.
Im about to get a complete overhaul of the bike at LeCap, Cape Town, where Im based, and then Im going to cross South Africa with it my friend Ian. We are going to try and go from West to East in the space of 2 weeks, touching as little tarmac as possible.
We'll be posting routes etc soon, and hoping for advice.
