So last year i bought a G650x from TankGirl to fix up & sell or something.
End result is i fixed it, but sold the GSA, so I will ride this for a bit, so I needed to sort the paperwork out - a little more expensive than I anticipated......
Registration cost - R180 - to get it in my name
License fee - R123 - license not issued as there is no roadworthy certificate (bike is in pieces) - but you have to do this....
Roll on 10 months - bike is fixed up
Roadworth Certificate - R476
License Fee - R276 - and yes, you have to pay again once the certificate is issued...
New number plate - R350
so the total is R1405 - these are the "on the road costs" we hear bantered about....
Interesting things I noted....
- no data dot required
- I was not issued a "new series" registration/plate number - the bike still runs the "old plate XMY_ _ _ GP - I thought that when a "old" vehicle is re-registered, it got a new series reg No.......
Anyway, it took a trip to the license department (Regitration/change of ownership/license), the roadwothy centre (Dekra Boksburg) and the Post Office to get the new Disc - oh, and a company in Benoni to get a new non-sabs plate made......
