One hundred and seventy grand for a DS bike?

Is it just me who thinks that it's absurd? Add some farkles and you are another fifteen grand out of pocket.

The whole purpose of DS bikes, IMHO, is to ride off-road on dirt, sand and rocks. A bike costing close to 200k don't look no good with scratches and dents. And the owners feel that pain before it happens. Hence limited off-road riding, with limited fun.

Then you get all the gizzmo's on the bike which can (and do) go wrong. The bike becomes useless if they fail in the middle of fark all anywhere.

Plus repairing stuff costs more than Heidi Klum's annual takings.

On top of that, the bike weighs as much as a Walmart shopper, and consumes as much fuel as the same Walmart shopper's bagel intake.

What happened to the rough and tumble fun of off-road riding?

Aren't things getting ridiculous? Or am I just being silly?
