Here goes for a first attempt, Peanut my mate on a KLR650 and myself on faithfull left here friday morning over villiersdorp and onwards to worcester to find the backroad to robertson and were hoping for some wet gravel as the cape town got a early morning soaking here. It was not to be as it was dusty there but with a small chance as we had occasional drops fall and lots of clouds overhead. Found lots of friendly and helpfull people with beautifull vineyards and other fruit in the starck karoo brush. At robertson we turned towards Mcgregor and what a find it is. Real old style, clean and friendly for a quick lunch and off to find some more gravel roads

and then maybe(if were lucky) a pic or two

And some more riding, outside Mcgreggor we took the stormsvlei road to bonnievale, nice gravel into b-vale for fuel. Quite a ugly little place. Down to the N2 to be blown all over the the road by the wind. We then took the greyton turn off, what a beauty, green, full of cow patties with the mountain on your side and lots of nice gravel. Greyton is a beauty like mcgregor just green. After a coffee we set of to botrivier and back to somerset. Very nice, about 420kms and 60 percent dirt. Next day over to hermanus side.

Was good to bump into you two on Saturday ..................  :thumleft: Thought you would stop to have a beer with us at Baardskeerdersbos ......................  :D

Nice one XT JOE, thanks for sharing.

Fishman, you would have loved it, that's a river, with i'm sure some fish in it, the water is that tea colour from mountain run off. Will add some more pics and writing later.

So on saturday we travelled through grabouw to take the van der stel pass through to botrivier/dassiesfontein and onto some dirt through to the caledon hermanus road and then try and find the back road to napier as once travelled with ROVRAT, but not to be. Stopping for a smokebrake "oom fourie" and the "Power Rangers" came past and stopped for a chat, wow what a show. Tenere1200,BMW1200,BMW800 and katoom 990 and all looking like they stepped out of a showroom. We started with a wrong turn and then left napier for another another time cuttin through the middle of nowhere and passing through baardskeerdesbos(try spell that with a milkshake or two in the system) seeing the flying four again and onto gansbay. We had a quick pie and coke and set off to the hermanus and onto the highlands road and came back through grabouw to somerset. Another very nice 310 kms ,about half dirt. Nice to see oom fourie again, always there with a smile and and could remind me very well what i looked like kicking the xt when it was going through a i will not start faze. Next time screw crappy saturday afternoon rugby and just see some more of this stunning area.
