Mods not too sure where to put this but im sure the okes wont mind as it was for a good cause..
Saw on Facebook that Nieu Bethesda and the larger Camdeboo area are having a never ending battle to feed their homeless and neglected dogs... i made a few calls and soon we had some food donations ready for collection to be taken to the area, around 280km from me.
As me and the wife had never been there we decided to load and deliver ourselves, this last Woman's Day public holiday. (10 Aug). Anyway to cut a long story short we stopped off at Graaff Reinet and gave them some of the donated food before heading off to Nieu Bethesda.
What an interesting little town especially the Owl house , once owned by a Helen Martins. See pics... :eek7:
Anyway the lady that took delivery of their food owns the little bookshop in Hudson street, see map as well.
My humble request to the travelling dogs heading that way is to please take a small bag of dog food or whatever fits in the top box along as a donation. You will be welcomed with a lekka Cappuccino and a mooi hug from Victoria the lady that runs the bookshop pozzie and that does all of the work for the dogs in the town. She depends and survives on donations only.. :3some:
They had one bag of 8kg Epol when we arrived now they can smile for a bit :deal:
Even had a dop at the famous PUB , looked a little run down but was quite cosy..seeing the max temp for the day was 9.5 deg
Go visit it well worth it :thumleft:
