Reins

:thumleft:
Hoe gaan lyk ?!  :peepwall: Was great!!  :thumleft:

After the "grim" accident scene, we continued rather sedately to Algeria and Clanwilliam past the Clanwilliam dam - shockingly low in water level !!
Skolla stopped at a SAPS vehicle on route to enquire about the accident, but they knew nothing... I later learn from the Fire brigade in Clanwilliam after a phone call to the Algeria Forestry that the accident happened sometime last weekend - but they had no details about the well-being of the vehicle's occupants ...  :(

We re-fuelled the bikes and found a coffee shop "Rooibos" for some refreshments. I enjoyed a spectacular chocolate cupcake  :drif: , but was absolutely shocked at the price of a normal cup of Americano - R25 per cup - same for 2nd one!! :xxbah:

And we were off, for an unexpected adventure through the Bidouw valley on route to the Tankwa ...
Before the start of the river-route though, we each enjoyed a last cold beer for quite some time to come ... but more on this awesome adventure later ...

So our journey continued through the amazing Bidouw valley - our first time through this particular part, but surely not the last!  8)
Except for breath-taking views, it does provide breath-taking riding too!!!  :thumleft: :thumleft:

We had our "ups-and-downs", and lost a fair amount of time, but that just led to more interesting times over the next two days ...

Let the pictures try and tell the story - albeit without gradient and feel ...

Dit is hier wat ek se dat die foto nie regtig die gradient wys nie,dit was flippen skuins en die sand, met moerse klippe, moerse diep, nietemin, mooi fotos, nou vir die res

And our journey continues - after the hellavu climb out of the Bidouw valley we entered the gigantic wide open and sandy Tankwa - what an extremely quiet and peaceful place!!! The shadows were growing alarmingly long now, and we knew we will have to find a place somewhere to overnight ... The bodies were also tired, the stomachs empty - not to speak about the desire for something cold ...  ???

Once in the Tankwa I got the feel of gliding, one had to focus not to loose concentration now, but damn it was nice just to cruise ...

Enjoyed the story to date, the photographs are amazing, Bring on the rest.

:lol8: Goeie "tip" Chris, thanks! Maar ek's bevrees die spesifieke foto waarna jy verwys het Skolla nie op- of afgeklim nie - hy't net gerus op die sidestand ...  :peepwall: :pot:

Awesome trip & fotos. Thanks for sharing.

:thumleft: Only a pleasure!

Somewhere  ::) in the Tankwa we turned right fore 2k's, and then we turned around again ...  :patch:
Later we saw a road sign "Calvinia 60" ... Not too long after this we turned right at a sign "Tankwa National Park".
We were tired and desperately looking for an overnight place ...  :p

Then we saw a "Plaasbord" saying "Ysdam" with a little tent picture ... We turned left at once and followed the sandy "tweespoor" road to a farm house ... a Friendly old "tannie" received us, but said everything was full !!!  :'( :'(
I think she saw the desperation on our faces, because she soon offered us a camping spot called - "Job se koelte" about 2km into the veldt ... There was absolutely NOTHING, but at R50 p/h we took it! She offered to send us some drinking water (brackish off course) and some fire wood, which we gladly and humbly accepted ....
