Ek het ook so n DR500 gehad.Selfde tipe karakter amper as my XT600 Tenere, stadige betroubare sterk trekker wat my nooit laat staan het erens nie.
Die twee bikes was my eie massey ferguson trekkers gewees.

Ja, dis 'n ou staatmaker. Maak nie saak hoe lank sy staan nie, net 2 of 3 ligte kickstarts
(om die petrol deur die vergasser te trek) en die enjin luier asof ek nou net gery het.
Die enjin is so basies ek diens en herstel self al die meganiese gedeeltes.
Die skokbrekers is net pateties. Ek moet darm bylas dat sy vir 10 jaar
voor my tyd HARDE plaas werk gedoen het. Diep waters, koue winters en warm somers.
Die vorigge einaar het haar selfs gebruik om 'n stukkende bakkie 'n paar km in te sleep
tot op sy plaas. En toe kry 'n 15jarigge buurman se seun die bike. En ek het al lekker aangejaag!

Ek is seker sy vergewe my.

I use a cheap "mik en druk". Sony W130. It's compact and if I break it I won't worry too much.
The picture quality is 8Mp but I only use the video function which is 640x480 pixels. Enough for
computer and television viewing. The only big complaint I have is that the microphone picks up
even the slightest wind noise.

Making the video in this thread I hand-held the camera during all the riding shots. While filming
more hectic riding like going into the dunes or Lesotho I mount it on my helmet. I just drilled a hole
on the side and fitted a sinkboutjie.

Could you put a bit of insulation tape over the mike to kill the wind noise?

Nice. Ek het ook een vakansie 'n DR500 gebruik om beeste in die kalahari mee aan te jaag. Hanteer lekker en weeg amper niks.

Ek het ook begin met n DR600 wat ek in 95 gekoop het.

Lekker vid Michiel. Ek het een gehad as vervoer toe ek in die Army Bottle Store (Lohatla) diens gedoen het in 86', en kon die ding n lekker streep trek, die menasie gang af    :biggrin: R nr plaat en petrol sommer uit die naaste Gary uit en sy was, GEEL. O ja en ek ry nou nog met die bestuurs lisensie wat ek met haar gekry het by RSM Smit  :mwink: :biggrin:

Het self ook n DR500S gehad n witte,het hom heeltemal uitmekaar gehaal,raamwerk rooi gespuit,tank en covers swart gespuit,enjin covers gecrome,rims en swingarm goud geanodice,drop handels en teerpad bande opgesit,n regte straat valk.Dit was in die laat 80's en toe verkoop ek hom om n verloofring te koop,en nou sien ek al vir 18 jaar my bike aan my vrou se vinger.
