It was with some anxious antisipation I woke up this morning. Did not sleep much.  But it was that lekker nugget feeling. I've been riding the sidecar a lot the last weeks testing different roads, but real open road is different.

I've driven and ridden tbe Langkloof/R62 a lot the last 40 years or and know every twist and turn. The past weeks I've ridden over and over in my head with the sidecar. I was prepared and it paid off. Not one oops while averaging overall 80km/h.

The car is smooth and handles with ease. No bad habits, but unforgiving. If you get it wrong it bites you, but predictably so I know what to expect and I think therein lies the safety.

All in all I am a happy camper

Baie bly vir julle.  Geniet die nuwe adventure.  :deal: :thumleft: :thumleft:

The following incident occurred in Germany in the early sixties. A man was charged with murder of his wife and found guilty. He had mounted a sidecar to his BMW bike one the left side of the bike, unlike how it is normally done in Germany. He took his wife for a bike trip and had a serious accident. He at one right hand corner took the corner too wide and the side span crossed the white line into oncoming traffic. He himself was seriously injured. The wife did not make it.

Disclaimer:  I am not insinuating anything in any way, nor is my intent to plant any ideas. Merely mentioning a useless trivia.

Keep up the great adventure! :thumleft:

Slow day today. Went to the granddaughters dedication in George and slowly making our way in the direction of Robertson.  Crossed Oiteniqua pass this morning.  Very exciting.  :lol8:

Sidecar mounted LHS would be correct here in ZA, but on the wrong side in Germany. They drive on the RHS of the road.

Stopped at the Woodies for late lunch and later in the day bumped into Vallbaas on the road. Nearly took us  out  :lol8: We at Silver strand in Robertson tonite. Another good days riding with no oopsies.

Looking forward to tomorrow when we will do our first gravel to Oasis.

Mental shift required old bean. Beplan die dagritte sodat jy nie hoef te druk nie, en smell the roses all the way. Stop, maak koffie, adem die vars lug in, kyk in jou liefde se oë...  En geniet elke oomblik, dis vlietend!  ;D

Ons doen. Ons het nooit gejaag nie. My spoed met die bike was maar gewoonlik hier by 110km/h.

Hy byt jou vinnig
