Watse cheap seegritz rook julle?

a Friend of mine living in Namibia called me the other day and said that he sold a vehicle to a company in Windhoek.
When they paid him the owner of the company gave him 50 cartons of Marlboro Gold, under the impression that he still smokes.
He quit smoking about a year ago, so it was passed on to me.
Should last for the trip.

Law, requirements and being a legal tour operator in Namibia.

To become a legal and approved tour operator in Namibia is a tricky, and lengthy business.
You have to apply at three different departments of the Namibian government and each one of them take their time with the process.
Each vehicle and trailer that you use needs to be inspected and approved, and each staff member needs to be vetted (police clearance, etc)
You pay almost ten grand per vehicle and 3 grand per staff member to get the licence. Couple that with work visas of three grand per visa (per staff member) per tour to really make things interesting.
You also have to prove why you are using SA staff and not Namibian locals, and that can be more difficult than you would think. We only received our certification in 2019 but have been operating under a temp licence before that. I believe they are now clamping down on illegal businesses and have heard that a German operator that was deported back to Germany, together with all his guests , without their bikes last week. This is a messy affair and I hope that there will be an amicable solution.

Edit - Heard now that it was only the operator and his staff that was deported. The bikes (rented in Namibia was confiscated)

I have a vague suspicion that we will have rain in Northern Namibia this year.
@Rickus sent me a message that suggests he feels the same.
Most of you have only ever seen the Kaokoland when it is dry.
Have a look at what can happen if the clouds gather over our stomping ground
