It does not matter the duration, distance, complexity or area....i start to froth at the mouth in expectation. Packing the bike for me sends signals on so many levels. I'm not compelled to pack ultra-light, take my expresso maker or the kitchen sink.
It's just nice to check out what lays ahead & pack according to requirements , budget & space .... this process of course adds like an extra day to the trip ;D
