I did enjoy riding around The Coromandel but wait till you get to the South Island. The West Coast is amazing. From Westport right down to Haast is beautiful. From there to Queenstown is great, you will use all the tyre around this area cos of the great sweeping corners. Enjoy Gods Own.

Agree , south island gonna mesmerise you... the queenstown area is beautiful , especially in the autumn

Beautiful country.  Are you still searching for gravel roads or are they basically limited to private property??

The gravel roads are there, but I like messing around in the slightly more technical areas, these are all fenced off though. Would love to go run around on those hills I took shots of.

+side is that there is plenty beach riding to be done around here. Looking to go and ride Muriwai beach next weekend. I'm not too bad with sand riding and I'm quite keen to get the practice. The bike is about 100kg heavier than my DRZ, so my riding style/technique is not settled yet.

Nice report.....Great looking surroundings.

Thx for sharing! :thumleft:

Today took a ride from Whangamata down to Tauranga.
Stopped along the way at the Browny Brewery and motorcycle museum (they have like 5 bikes, nice 2 smokes anyway)

So here are my travels so far. The best part being the trip up the Coromandel peninsula. Not alot of pics from the ride, but some video that I still need to edit.
