Lovy and I are planning a longish trip for December... Cape Town to Baviaanskloof etc.
Question is... how much weight can one safely carry on the bike? Our combined weight, with ATGATT is about 175kg... OK, OK, I am two thirds of that... plus full tank of fuel 20kg, leaves us with nothing for luggage if I accept the manufacturer's max weight. So what do I do?? Tow the bike behind a cage, let Lovy drive and I ride (she will not settle for that one), stay at home, buy new stuff every time we want to take a shower... go to a nudist camp so that we do not need any extra clothing >

Any suggestions on what is a safe load for a Varadero, all up and ready to tour longish distances... mostly good gravel roads.
