So myself en Breytec decided to explore our semi-local surroundings over weekend in the beautiful Mpumalanga. with massive excitment and 2x 800gs's calling in the background we had no choice but to abide by their call.

Our plan was simple he would come from Polokwane and myself from Nelspruit where we would meet up close to hoedspruit at the J.G Strydom tunnel. leaving at about 6am on the saturday morning it was quiet chilly as the mist and cold was still lingering about as seen below covering sabie

After Caspers nek we ended up in Pilgrims for a well deserved drink. We then thought we would travel up the Robbers pass and see the Orighstad dam. Unfortunately we where not allowed  :xxbah: so we decided to head back and find the first gravel route we could go on. We found the Mount Sheba turnoff and thought we would have a look. it was a beautiful trip through the plantations. The place is a hidden gem. If you have not been there do yourself a favour and go look.

We finished a quick lunch at mount Sheba and pondered about the sign we saw while coming in. Hidden trout farm 10 KM......... It was a gravel road that seemed to go through more plantations so we thought, we are here, the bikes are her WHY NOT.... and what a pleasure it was. the road was extremly technical or so we thought but worth the trip. we stopped in the middle of nowhere and discussed the fact that you could camp right there and no one would even know or care. we continued on and passed a  dam and 2 houses on it. it did not look like much so we decided to carry on and see where the road takes us. then the road got really technical extremly rocky and you had to strangle the throttle in low gear so that you dont slip on the loose rocks. after what felt like ages and some serious riding (remember we are offroad noobs) we saw a sign that said hidden trout farm ahead.... we thought we passed it. Anyway we continued onto what we later where told is a private farm  >:D OOPS... but what a beautiful farm it was.

Looks larney there with the pool....and they let you dirty bikers in there???  :deal:

Adic LOL I think it might not have been out of choice but we where thirsty, hungry and dirty    so we just barged in and didnt give them chance to protest

It was getting late so we decided to head to graskop and find some place to sleep. once we got there breytec said he know a place that will have all the answers (any biker thats been to Graskop should know the place) RIDERS.
they where great the owner Shanon and all the gents around the bar sorted us out with a few drinks and an amazing guide to where we should sleep (it was close enough so that we could park the bikes and come back for a few more)  >:D  ..... the place was next to nothing and had everything we needed.

Very nice, some great looking roads there. Shot for sharing  :thumleft:

We woke up a bit late the next morning.... Riders kept us busy (the Boks almost losing to Argentina and some fellow adventure bikers from Oudtshoorn didnt help either) we decieded to go around gods window to the second view point. It was such a clear day thus we had a perfect view.
We then chose to go and view the Drie Rondawels.
from there we road back to Orighstad where Breytec and I said cheers vir eers and we headed our seperate ways.
all said and done it was only a short 2 day trip but epic none the les.
One thing you relize by going on these roads that are rarely travled is that you just cant do it any beter and have more fun than on an adventure bike.
Each road or trip that you take is an adventure on its own.

Hope you all enjoy the report and I really hope I will be able to Post another one soon

NAMIBIA    Wat se jy Breytec???????????

Wraggies?

;D

:laughing4:

Die wêreld lyk mooi nou man  :thumleft: :peepwall:

Dis veseker draadwerk en alles so so by mekaar...
Ek het vir jou my details ge pm.
