When I bought my Bike an AT T/C Edgy and I together collected our bikes in Bloem both fitted with Pirreli Scorpions. Edgy made sure we stopped every 50Kms or so to cool the tyres running them in properly for 400kms. My rear tyre lasted 4800kms before it was finished but had a good wear pattern (2000km tar). After some research and advice I changed to EO-9 Mitas to get rid of the annoying whine the pirreli tyres gave at between 90 -110 KMH and it worked. I was told I only need to run them in for 100kms on tar. The whine disappeared and they seem to be better on the dirt. After my 100kms run in I was back on the dirt. I ride 90% dirt and use the bike on weekends around the Garden route.(live in Knysna) sometimes I give it a bit of a blast I have done 900kms Tyre pressure 2.5 rear 2.0 front. My tyres are F--ked and I am grumpy I cannot afford this.
