Howdy all.
Took a ride to Clarens yesterday morning on my gs800f, very cold so had heated grips on, gps and obviously lights were on. 100km from Senekal, woep wap, no speedo, revcounter, dash lights, hooter, nothing. Bike carries on running but engine sounds bad a idle, sounds like a bearing knock but I ascertain that its coming from the fuel injection system. I got to Senekal and had a "autolectrition" check the brand new battery out and its showing 6v with the engine running!
I unpluged my headlights, switched of gps and everything else and road back to jhb, the dash came back about 50kays from Senekal and when i got home, all was ok, bike starts, and it all seems ok. Charging at between 13 v and 14v now.
Anyone had similar experience, been reading about this today and looks like the charging system on the 800 is not so sharp?
