So the wife and I is in the process to refurb our house.... Recently we got a king size bed as a christmas present and this meant a bigger headboard.
We did some shopping around (specificaly for wooden headboards) and was shocked at the prices...anything from 8k to 30k. My wife and I both like the the old antic look of wooden furniture and this was the power that lit up my lightbulb.
As we got home about 2weeks ago I went straight to the garage and started looking at the old skirtings we removed from the house. (Luckily I am my fathers son and only throw things out after about 15years )
Taking some time, and another reason to buy some more tools, I started planning and measuring what is required. With a thumbs up from the wife and nothing else planned for this past weekend, it was all planned, cut, sanded and first coat of varnish.
Will update the thread once the second coat is on and its up above the bed.
Planning and fittings stages
All cut and measured
Time to start sanding
Half way done sanding
All done sanding
Will take a pic tonight of the first coat of varnish and post.
