'n Koelerige Montagupas gister
Mooi foto!

Dis werklik 'n toerisme aantreklikheid

If you draw an imaginary line from Stellenbosch to Somerset-West, and continue to the coast at Macassar, then onto Kuilsrivier and Brackenfel Klapmuts and back to Stellenbosch, you'll have circled

the area I have been riding since the mid-70's to about 3 years ago.

It's called the "Wingerdpaadjies" route [Vineyard route], and provided us with many kilometres of farmroad, footpaths and hillclimbs. Absolute paradise.

Ettienne2T, StrokeHer and some others on here has been on a part of these tracks.

Well, I discovered, yet again, how unchecked crime is affecting us all, even in play.

I only took 3 photos, and the first one shows the bike with a hill behind it. Aim is to go to the top of this hill, then down it's leftside as seen on photo, through the Carinus and Bonthuys farms.

The photo also shows the fence that's been put up recently, cutting off our track abruptly. :xxbah:

This photo shows the Helderberg mountain in the foreground, with the Hottentots-Holland range behind it.

And with yet another fence preventing one from taking another track....... :patch:

This photo, taken from the same spot as the other two, shows the two fences meeting, and the koppie in the background is the one just showing on the left in photo one.

We wanted some Maluti's, but the current bordercrossing regulations prevent this from happening soon.
So we created our own 'soon', by getting lost a bit - oopsie!
In the lowlands it is still warm there, but on top it is cool to cold already, especially in the mornings.
Was an awesome weekend with excellent accommodation, they'll see us again when there's snow to ski on  ;)
