So... been looking to upgrade lights on my new (to me) 2007 R1200GS....

I see some LED options claim to outperform the HID's out there... but nobody can give me details of if the huge heat sink on those things will fit in the headlight housing... and at the price - I cant justify what would probably become an expensive lesson.

so this brings me back to HID.
I've run HID on several vehicles and been pretty impressed with them (aside from their warm-up time being annoying if you ever plan to use your high beam to flash lights)...

Every kit I have used so far has been 35w... but I am seeing more and more 55w kits out there...

Does anyone have any experience with 35w vs 55w HID kits?
are the 55w really that much brighter?
do they generate more heat that could become a problem in the enclosure?
Does anyone know where I could get a 55w H7 HID kit that won't trigger the headlight error on the GS? (I assume any CANBUS compliant set would work?)

Any advice / pointers would be awesome!

Thanks guys and gals :)
