XR 650 R roadworthy kit?

I am looking at buying a XR 650 R , but would like to get it roadworthy.  In the US I see a lot of kit's available, are there any available in SA?

What would be needed except for Headlight, flickers, horn, mirrors, numberplate, anything else? Battery, or can you get along without it?

Has anybody been through the process, and can offer me advice on this?
