Newbie here, been a frequent guest however.
I've gotten my hands on an XT550. Awesome piece of machinery.
Now, the last problem on the list of fixing is getting the secondary carb working well - it revs up to ~3000 rpm like a dream, then gets very flat & iffy until you open the gas full, at which point it gets very exciting. Now, I know it's most likely a vacuum issue (the 2nd carb shoe between the motor & carb look a little knackered).
Are there any suggestions as to the best person in town (JHB - Sandton/Sunninghill) to get spares from for this bike? Particularly interested in the carb shoes & a carb kit at the moment... but it's going to turn into a project bike over time anyway. Is there anyone on the forum who's a particular fundi of these bikes?
