give me more info and maybe I will be there next year
Easy: it is a 3-day RedCherry Event led by Mike Glover - the website found here:
https://www.seatosea.co.za/
First time for me to join this outfit (had met/rode with Eddie Sullivan before though) so didn't know what to expect, and I was probably the only dude who didn't know Mike - which is a "naughty bugger" according to
@P.K. who went to school with him it appears, so that must have been a HKGK period in their lives
Anyway, nice routes to ride, challenging at times, long enough too (this is why I had to think of you Jon lol), so tricky even in fact that it wore out a few others which are better riders than me.... but hey, this is the Wild Coast after all.
Biggish group, I'd say 40 odd guys and a girl also, a Hanneli who also rode Silver.
The Gold group was fastest of course, and
@Renrew now has, wait for it!!!!!, a
scratch on his bike because he dropped it somewhere
Mostly 2strokes but also a few 4's, even a 500 who did Silver, with Fick on it who's not a too-regular rider - but he did very well, he surprised a few in our group
You on your trusted 500 will do well there, just don't expect to ride it all: sukkel n biki also boetie.... but this is why I like this ride, there's oooh-**** moments for
all who partake!
There were also 2 Adventure Riders (T7 & BMW650XChallenge) who even rode some of the Gold route bits, very capable riders them
Excellent organizing, professional FirstAid teams with paramedics** & a bakkie, good lodging with sterling catering too, and the group itself had some sterling riders without even a hint of prima-donna attitude, they proved normal helpful chaps ...... in short camaraderie was abundant, we were one group: GREAT!
Recommended to anyone who likes a well organized challenging group ride in a stunning part of our country!
** : they had to attend to one broken wrist and a properly sprained ankle, both on the first day so that was the end of their riding for both, shame
