Great weekend away at the Zingela Bash.

Awesome venue, great riding and an an awesome group of people.

If you want to, please post your bash pics here

I had a nice easy ride up to Zingela with Simon and Leon, We left Pmb at about 11h00 and got to Zingela late afternoon.

Unfortunately on the road into Zingela Simon hit a rock and did a superman over his handlebars, nothing broken as far as I know, but unfortunately Simon was in a bit of pain over the weekend, but nothing that couldn't be self medicated with a bit of alcohol 🍻

Sort of from the side.

These bags work great, don't even feel they are there, even on some pretty tough terrain (y)

Rode my bike straight to my room, unpacked, had a quick wash and went down to the bar to get a drink

It was a great weekend, I really enjoyed it, and met lots of people who up until now were just names on the forum. Huge shout out to Jon for his organising, guidance and patience on the rides. Zingela is a very special place, and the food was magnificent. Wish I'd brought a smaller bike for some of the tech sections, but my Norden coped admirably. Big effort made by some guys who travelled far to be there, particularly Lars who came all the way from Cape Town. Thanks everyone for the good memories.

peteb that must have been you on the Norden on the road out, We were riding in on a day ride. I was on my 790. We did a quick visit and left, to get back for the rugby, Most of the chaps were out on a ride. Sorry we missed you Jon.

A big thank you to @JonW for organising the weekend! The location was breath-taking, Zingela is definitely seeing me and my family again.

Accommodation was spot-on, the social area was great and the food more than what you could ask for. And all for very very reasonable prices. Situated on the banks of the Tugela, we were spoilt with an abundance of birdlife and some rather tame pigs of various species. Some of the guys opted to not go riding but rather try their luck at fly fishing, successfully landing a few yellows.

The riding was exceptional. @JonW took us along the Tugela River valley on jeep tracks, single tracks, cattle track, riverbed, rocky ascents and descends, and arranging access to private land to cross. We encountered lots of cattle, but also some game i.e. giraffe, impala, etc. Riding up and down the mountains in and out of the valley was very enjoyable.

And of course, the company was great. It was good to see familiar faces and catch up again, and also to make some new friends.

Thanks to all who made it such a fun weekend. Batteries charged and ready for the Big Smoke again 👊

This was a great bash at a superb venue! Back to basics in some sense (real dirt riding required through beautiful scenery to get to the venue), yet accommodation was good with a wide choice from DIY camping to fixed tents, to en-suite shower and all. The catering was delicious - and the food never ran out. Thanks Jon!!!

PS. Some yellowfish were fooled by feathers tied to a hook... 😁
PPS. And the Ethiopian coffee was a lovely treat - thanks @Pebbles and @dieseldawie !

Yeah @ianb I saw some guys coming the other way, but we didn't stop for a gander, sorry we missed you. Must say your pre filter was worth it's weight in gold over the weekend.

Met great people and enjoyed my first bash, looking forward to the next one.

Did not go on the outride but enjoyed the Zingela Highway on the scooter
