Seems I managed a double post somehow

Net so ja.Daai snotdriffie is baie naby aan die Willowmore-Klaarstroompad amper net daar waar julle regs gedraai het. Hy lyk omtrent altyd so morsig!!
Al wat ek wil weet Tiaan, is:After a bit of a rest and a good coffee we set off again, right into the sand monster's clutches
The recent heavy rains had left some proper deep loose sand on the road.
Now I dont like riding through sand and I am not good at it yet either, but this time I made it through.
Tiaan was not lucky this day, with his sense of humour eventually failing him after the 3rd sandy zigzaggy tumble. Mostly the damage was superficial, but the 2nd one had us doing some repairs while having lunch.
When he slid out on his side the bolts clamping the protector blocks protecting the lower crashbars, protecting the engine covers punched a neat hole in the latter
Luckily Pratley Steel came to the rescue and after a quick fix we were off again
With our original late start, planning in Touwsriver and all the delays the day was flying past fast so we cruised through the remaining joy of Anysberg carefully and headed for Koedoeskloof outside Ladismith.

I would've loved to go straight over and ride all the way to Prins Albert on gravel, but that newly tarred road to Klaarstroom side was sleep-inducingly smoothThat Prince Albert turn off is a nasty one. If you don't know it's there you will either carry on with the road that looks like a road, which it of course isn't, or you end up braking and losing some rubber in the process.
Vra hom dit jaAl wat ek wil weet Tiaan, is:
kom daai Honda's nie met stands nie?
I know exactly what spot you are referring to - that deep one on the left about halfway down, about 500mm deep and not wide enough to ride out of againRe your comment about the current state of Montagu Pass....yes, it is normally a walk in the park. I was coming down there last week and on a section that was half donga half original road, I had to move over for some mountain bikers and the *#$@ said donga sucked me toward it rather unexpectedly....close.
Lekka RR...thanks for sharing.
Dis eintlik n beter opsie daai - Tiaan sal hier lees"When he slid out on his side the bolts clamping the protector blocks protecting the lower crashbars, protecting the engine covers punched a neat hole in the latter "
Thanks for the armchair lesson. Not nice to have collateral damage, especially from a protector gadget. I fit see through pipe on the crash bars fastened with cable ties, and often get asked what I will use to protect the transparent piping☺.
