I need some advice on what product I should use to cover the inside of my Dakar's Hepco Becker topbox.  I bought the bike with the boxes and am quite happy with the sturdiness and quality of the product.  The only problem I currently experience is that whatever I put something in the boxes will be stained a grayish/silver colour.  It is obviously the metal of the boxes rubbing off onto my goods.  It is also quite abrasive so if you don't protect something properly in the box it will look like it has been sanded afterwards.  I know the obvious solution would be to get a topbox bag to put inside the box for protection, but I find that to be a bit of a hassle.  I was thinking of rather painting the inside of the box with some varnish or something, but I may just be creating a bigger screw up...  Any ideas from the clever dogs??
